Melissa Morrison

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

I'm Melissa Morrison, a literacy coach who's on a mission to help educators inspire a love for writing in their students.

I believe every teacher has the potential to ignite creativity and confidence in their writers, and I'm here to guide you every step of the way.

When teachers know their students as writers they will know how to meet their needs.

When teachers honor the stage of writing development in which each student resides and allow them to write with authenticity, they will instill a sense of confidence in and motivation for writing that is vital for student success.

- MELISSA

Literacy Consultant, Educator

I have been working in education for over 18 years. For 10 of those years, I was an elementary teacher, where, as all teachers do, I taught, learned, stressed, cared, celebrated, cried, got excited, got frustrated, and hopefully, made a difference in the lives of my students.

The one most influential period in my career was when I was lucky enough to work with an instructional coach. My coach supported me, validated me, pushed me to reflect and learn, and cheered me on!

One of our areas of collaboration was writing instruction, which then became my favorite part of teaching literacy! Since that time, I have focused on researching, learning and teaching as much as I can about writing!

Now, as I have been fortunate enough to turn my passion for writing, strong instruction and caring for others into a new career, I hope to be that same influence for fellow educators.

What Sets Me Apart

I know that each district has unique needs, timelines, and budgets. That's why I customize every plan to fit your specific situation.

As a former educator, I go beyond mere techniques and instructional practices. My training focuses on why writing instruction should break away from traditional methods, helping teachers understand and embrace high impact strategies.

My coaching is tailored to each teacher's experience and learning stage, ensuring everyone gets the support they need.
